Alexios Apazidis, MD, MBA, fAAOS, Dipl. ABOS

Dr. Alexios Apazidis is a board-certified orthopedic and spinal surgeon with 15 years of experience in private practice. He currently treats patients facing orthopedic and spine conditions at multiple locations across New York City and Long Island and performs surgical procedures at hospitals affiliated with Catholic Health System, Northwell Health, Carepoint Health, Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health, and Hudson Regional Hosptial. He is also licensed to perform surgeries in New Jersey and Florida.

Dr. Apazidis focuses on educating patients to allow them to have a full understanding of their treatment options and surgical procedures. He is committed to restoring patients’ health and mobility, allowing them to live pain-free. He is pleased when patients meet with him and share that they are eager to go back to work and other physical activities as this is the ultimate goal of treatment.

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Apazidis stays up to date with the latest surgical procedures and techniques. He specializes in highly technical, minimally invasive spinal surgeries which allow for faster recovery and better outcomes.  An important part of maintaining that edge in surgical technology is participating in the maintenance of board certification process. Dr. Apazidis was board certified more than 10 years ago and has gone through the rigorous recertification process to maintain this important distinction. He feels that his participation as a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons is crucial to being in a position to provide the very best orthopaedic and spine care available.

He is an active member of professional societies including an active Fellowship in the  American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and memberships in the American Medical Association, North American Spine Society, New York State Medical Society and the Suffolk County Medical Society. Most importantly, he has achieved Diplomat status at the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
